Is it illegal to trip a baby?

My friend Gil accidently tripped a baby in the movie theater. He found it very fun and wants to continue his tripping skills as a sport. I am trying to convince him that it is illegal but i dont have any good support for that! Is tripping infants/ babies illegal? Please help me out here!
