How to read a girls and understand them :P?

because this gil in my class that i had a crush on all year long i ask her out 3 or 4 weeks ago but she said no and told all her friends but last night we went to a school activity she was so nice to me plus she gave me a hug (the first one this year) and almost kiss me but her dad came at th wrong time plus at school in class she's always on my back criticising everything i do so i ask you all does she like me? how can i read her? if no is there tricks to know when a girl likes you? plus she's the hottest 7 grader in the school and im 14 if that helps
